During a Root Canal Treatment, the nerve and pulp are extracted, removing all bacteria and infection. The inside of the tooth is then cleaned and sealed to prevent further infections. All patients will need an initial consultation with our Root Canal Specialist with the exception of some in-house referrals.<\/p><p><strong>The consultation lasts for 30 minutes. <\/strong> Our Specialist will do a limited examination and take new X-rays of the tooth in question to determine its suitability for treatment.<\/p><p>Our Specialist will discuss whether this treatment is viable and all other options available. You will have local anaesthetic and should thus not feel any discomfort. A rubber sheet is used to isolate the tooth being treated. This prevents the bacteria from re-entering the disinfected canals.<\/p><p>After the root canal treatment has been completed, you will need to book an appointment with your General Dentist.
