LET US WALK YOU THROUGH THE IMPLANT PROCEDURE
1. PLANNING PHASE
Your first step entails a consultation with your Dentist and a Sussex Implant Centre Surgeon.
We will describe the method and course of the planned treatment, to see if you qualify for an implant.
Depending on your situation, it may be possible to extract the tooth and insert the implant during the same appointment. Some receive a full tooth on the same day.
2. SURGICAL PHASE
Just like any other surgery, your surgeon will take time to review your medical history.
Before the surgery you will have 2D or 3D X-rays taken and a precision surgical guide made, to ensure a quality treatment.
Your surgeon will then place the first part of your implant with or without sedation, depending on your medical situation.
3. RESTORATION PHASE
Your jawbone and gum tissue need to be strong to support the implant and ensure success.
Depending on your jaw, the final implant could be placed on the same day. However, most patients have to come back after 6-12 weeks.
You will have a temporary tooth fitted in the meantime and will be provided with pain relief medication if needed.
